i heard L 42 2010 had this issue. So it is playing it safe to assume all fixed non-openable hatches. Issue pops out after 10 years or so.

you are absolutely right. Level of arrogance i have seen from L 400 owners regarding fix.
In our case there was no damage, instead going for "lagoon will pay fix" I opted for making area dry....

AS we both know Lagoons excel at providing optimal value for combination of $, comfort and performance. I would say L 400 is really the pinnacle of that.
Lagoon 400 design issue lead to bulkhead...

last i checked there was 13,000 deaths and 600,000 or so damages caused by corona vaccines in EU in lat 5 mths.

7 kn passage averages is excellent for 40 footer in my books.
We do plan 3 capes but i need to do some extra work on boat for that.

Our boat went thru 30 k nm sailed from EU and has zero issues. We average 6.5 kn on passages and i expect this to increase to 7 kn with new sails.

what is there to prove? I gave my 10 kn true upwind at 3 kn VMG that I have done in ideal conditions loaded around 2 -2.5T.
Expect that Outremer 45 like boat does same at 4 kn VMG give or take.

disclaimar - i make rough approximations here without knowing details of 44c boat.
44C boat is assume same rating as outremer 45
Going thru ARC rating one can see Outremer 45 is 1.168 Lagoon...
