Re: Anchoring in Georgian Bay, Ontario

The East side of the Bay tends to have cottagers that believe now that they own some land, no one else should come near.
I say leave the Toronto crowd and travel up the West side on your way North...

Re: Tips for preventing dogs from tearing your boat up

Re: Heavy rain affects Depth sounder and Fishfinder

I also have two depth sounders, one forward and one the usual. On my boat both can't be running at the same time. I believe the echos interfere with one another.

Re: Stuffing box or dripless shaft seals?

Old fashioned stuffing box is the way to go. If it ever drips more then you want , just tighten the thing. The more you know about your boat (and check occasionally ) the better.

I have the same model. I agree...great boat. Almost perfect. What else could you want. Mine is a bit older 1990. Added the staysail which gives more options.

Re: Toronto Boat Show 2019

I attend the Toronto boat show every year. To me it breaks up the good old Canadian winter and makes me dream of summer days to come.
Although I'm a sailor I just love being around all the different...

Re: Why do friends feel so entitled to come on the boat?

Wow....I'm amazed at how many boat owners can't be bothered to be friendly to their supposed "friends". They must have friends on some level before and now because you have a "yacht" they become a...

Re: GL Forum: Dead in Here

There are advantages to our short seasons.
We dream of the summer to come, go to the boat shows, work on boat projects in the basement, inspect all the systems while on the hard, and are refreshed...

Now about 75% of...

Re: Progressive Lenses on Deck?

Re: New stuffing box getting hot no matter the drip rate

Had the same problem.
Did the job of new flax packing last winter on the hard. My first time doing this project and worried about my spring launch being a gusher.
No problem, but no drops at all....

Re: Nervous About North Channel Canada

The only real wildlife to be concerned about is the varieties of poison ivy on Claperton island. (Not making light of the rare chance of coming across a bear).
Enjoy....
You'll love your cruise.
