raster cache should be disabled. I have been struggling with it for a long time on Raspi and since then I have been disabled first. It's a pity that with every update the OpenCPN is switched on again.

some time ago on GitHub I already pointed out that on Ubuntu 20.04 in Dark Mode some dialogues are not readable. The problem still remains

You are right.

don't understand why mbtiles is only considered an overlay. what if only gshhs and mbtiles are present in the system? Or mbtiles for areas where no other charts are available?

it's selfcompiled/packaged git. it does not matter if master or legacy branch. same result.

touch ~/chartsymbols.xml

and start opencpn :banghead:

Found it. I don't know why, but opencpn found copy of chartsymbols.xml in my $HOME. After I moved the file, it works as expected. Nevertheless I send log with incorrect behaviour

when i try to go back to the original, i still see the same picture, as if it is cached somewhere

packages from both repositories land in /usr
ppa:opencpn is a "stable"
ppa:bdbcat is beta


if both repos are activated, a package with larger package number/version will be installed

1. It will install with default options to PREFIX /usr/local/
opencpn binary -> /usr/local/bin
all data to /usr/local/share/opencpn


If you want to change in another path ( /usr)
mkdir build...

I find that very odd. I'm not a Mac user, but on Unix it doesn't work for non-root users
