I just did the upgrade. The transducer connections are the same but if you have seatalk you will need an adapter to connect to other instruments as it has changed.

Re: Question about outboard powered cats
Yes they originally did require that you opened the lid and reached down to release the lock. I doubt that many owners would have left it that way as it was less than ideal.

Re: Question about outboard powered cats
On my PDQ32 i drilled a hole in the latch for a small line that I ran down to a small pulley and then up and out the side of the housing where I attached a 1 inch diameter ball. To release the...

Re: 2017 & 2016 Yamaha T-9.9-XWTC outboard engines. For sale
I am tempted. I have a PDQ32 with original 1999 engines that still run well but probably won't last forever. Unfortunately I am in Ontario so our dollar exhange works against me and you are not...

Re: How to integrate a portable generator?
You need to be able to dial down the input current on your battery charger when using a small generator. My Xantrex charger/invertor has a remote panel that lets me set the maximum input current. If...

Re: Inverter efficiency
On further checking it seems that the manufacturers are only indicating the draw for the microwave only. When you add the turntable, fan, and controls it probably will be 1200 watts or more.

Re: Inverter efficiency
I checked the microwave operating current today. It was drawing 13 amps at 110 volts so that is 1430 watts. The inverter was drawing 150 amps at 11.5 volts which is 1725 watts. This works out to an...

Re: Inverter efficiency
I would be happy with your numbers. I will put a meter on the AC line to the microwave to see if that is where the problem lies. If the amp draw on the micro is OK then I need to look at the inverter.

Re: Inverter efficiency
I think I have figured out part of the answer. It seems the 800 watts is the microwave rating only. The power used to create the 800 watts is 1300 watts so the power discrepancy is much less.

We have an 800 watt 110 volt microwave on board. We also have a 2000 watt Xantrex inverter. When we use the microwave the inverter panel indicates a power draw of 150 amps which at twelve volts would...

If you are spending four weeks on the boat you probably need some sort of refrigeration. A built in fridge or portable electric cooler will be your biggest power draw.
If your outboard is a 9.9 hp...

To some degree the rig eases tension on it's own since the coefficient of thermal expansion for aluminum is greater than that for steel. Accordingly the mast will shrink a little more than the...

I sail a PDQ32 on Lake Simcoe. The marina travel lift can accomodate my 16 foot beam and the width has never been a problem in terms of slip accomodation.

The Antares uses a rigid arrangement but they still have a couple lines to guide the sail as it drops. They guide lines are closer to the mast so they are not going to foul the longer battens.
