The 2 wires that were charred were the lone black wire running to engine ground and red wire running to B2 post on switch. This wire was bundled with and burned others.

Thank you good observation.

For clarity the 2 red wires ran from charger to B1 and B2 posts on switch. The black ground wire ran from charger to engine.

Yes thanks - just wires from B2 battery post on switch to shore charger, and the ground from shore charger to engine burned. Solar is led to B2 house (also connected to B2 battery post on switch)....
