Re: Water pump keeps running

There would only be power through the relay if the pressure switch allows it, so it would seem the pressure switch needs fixing depending on model.

Re: The Great Loop-lets talk about that to get me outta my funk....

To the OP you have posted in the multihull forum, what boat do you have, we know a couple that did the great loop in an Orana 44, had their mast shipped. There will be a charge for taking it down and...

Re: 440 Flybridge

You will love the 500, it is also a quicker boat than the majority of mid 40 footers due to its waterline length. Space wise not much in it compared to a 450. Saloon is bigger, rear cockpit and helm...

Re: Laying out a plan to sail off!

I haven't read all prior posts in detail, but something you will need to consider is how comfortable you want to be living on a boat 24/7 six to 12 months at time. Mundane things like laundry, do you...

Is your boat mobile?, if so why not just strap it to the deck, only cost will be fuel for 200 miles.

Re: preventing chafe of RIB on davits

If you have canvass or sunbrella chaps made, this will prevent chafe on the tubes plus provide UV protection and dock rub for all the tubes. When you peel the chaps off in 5 years your tubes will...

Re: Looking to buy outboard for dinghy

I think the multi use idea of such an outboard as a redundancy / emergency tool is fine. However for the very rare occasion that you need it for this (assuming no assistance is available) you will...

Re: What the heck happened to my Lexan windows? And can it be fixed?

Are you sure it is Lexan/Polycarbonate? it could be Plexiglass/acrylic, which is more robust for polishing out scratches.

Re: What would you buy?

To me ideal boat would be around 45ft+, semi displacement, cruise at around 7-8 knots but can do 15 - 20 if required. Bow thruster. A master bedroom with island bed, and ensuite, two heads. Fly...

Re: dinghy lights

We used the Navisafe light with magnetic base, carried in my pocket. Glued a big steel washer to the nose of the dinghy and at night just stuck the red/green light to it. Light is easily removed and...

Re: use tax and cruisers license in TX

Cruising License is $19.00, so not totally free, and in some ports they only take cash and do not keep change, so you may need to visit a store first to break your $20 note.

Re: Fender inventory. Care to share?

Those vertical fenders can be tied end to end so make a long horizontal fender with a support line in the middle. Makes coming into a fixed leeward dock in 25knots a bit easier.

Re: Lagoon 450S Roller Furling Spool Slipping and Jamming

I agree if it was 20mm rod, but the shackle is rubbing against a strand. One busted strand and the whole cable needs replacement. You shouldn't find too many places where stranded wire is rubbing...

Re: Lagoon 450S Roller Furling Spool Slipping and Jamming

So you have the stainless shackle constantly rubbing on the stay wire, i.e. metal to metal ? made even worse when the furling line is under tension. You have a 2016 boat so maybe in 2023 you might...

The 46 is 1" longer and 1" wider than the 450. How do you figure it has less space?
