That elbow looks pretty bad. A temporary fix would be to get some exhaust repair putty from an auto parts store and some fiberglass cloth, cut it into 2 inch strip coat the elbow all the way around...

I've done this in the water too. you won't sink. just make sure to attach lines to all tools and the porp, as finding them on some bottoms can be a pain.
