Re: Gozzard vs Cabo Rico

Thatís a great buy for $489!
The old gent didnít use it much. Huge aft cabin due to the raised cockpit floor.
Personally I would prefer a different hull color.

Re: External DIY UV Shading material? Clever solutions? Experiences?

I made cockpit side and stern shades with Phifertex from Sailrite on a Gozzard 44.

If you use two zippers one shade can work for both sides since thereís only one sun to deal with.

Re: Gozzard vs Cabo Rico

I seriously donít know if theyíre in business being out of boat buying for some 20 years.
I know they built 2 beautiful 52 footers some time ago at the beginning of the decline of the market.

Re: Gozzard vs Cabo Rico

Iíve had a G44BMKII for 18 years. B refers to the interior layout with a forward cabin with centerline berth. MKII refers to the improved hull design - about the year 2000.

Weíve sailed against a...

Re: Bottomsiders Cockpit Cushions

Seven years later my cushions still look good. Phifertex wears like iron and dries fast.

Re: Gozzard sailboats

If you think theyíre expensive consider a used Gozzard. The factory is one of the few semi-custom boatbuilders still in business and will refit your used Gozzard to new for half the price of a new...

Re: Best wax or UV protectant for gel coat

Rejex is the polymer I use over newly buffed Awlgrip paint. Rejex is more effective than Awlcare in my experience.
If you have Awlgrip try test buffing a small section.
After 17 years my dark...

Re: Aft Cockpit with Aft Cabin?

Large aft cockpit vs large aft cabin. Itís all a compromise, you usually canít have both.

Gozzard in 2017 raised the cockpit floor, calling it a G41RC. Same large cockpit, more commodious aft...

Re: Leaving an oscillating fan running?

A fan COOLs by evaporating sweat on the skin. If youíre not on the boat it does little except move hot air around. Use a dehumidifier instead.
