I would get 2 firearms.

The Rem 870 12 gauge shotgun for if a bear gets close and have a second member have a 30-06 or larger bolt action. Personally I would go for a semi-auto like a M1 Garand...

Look at something like a Catalina or similar, you can get a lot of boat at a good price and will be able to sell it if you decide not to go full bore and still get manufacturer support.

sounds like the suggestion of 200watts minimum is a good one with a fridge etc. If for just a the weekends you could get a wind gen and toss the TV over the side.

The big problem I see is getting the old flange off. After that getting a new one and replacing the manifold is pretty easy and cheap as far as boat money goes.
