Re: Southern Cross 35 for sale

The price reflects only about 70% of what we have into it - what the market may bear, perhaps. The only Big Trip we did was from Chaumont Bay, NY to Maine via the St. Lawrence Seaway, and a lot of...

Re: Boarded with bad intentions?

Wasp spray - in the face, the foaming kind kind that shoots 20 - 25', better than mace and legal everywhere I think. And no holes in the boat!

Re: DIY parallel hybrid - anyone done it?

Come to think better of it, as Q Xopa mentioned, the engine is wobbling around so the pillow block, yes, that is one in the picture, will probably hold the shaft too rigidly and cause other problems...

Re: DIY parallel hybrid - anyone done it?

Beta Marine did/does one with an integral motor between the engine/trans, try picking their brains.

For supporting the shaft, you could use a pillow-block bearing next to where you put the shaft...

Re: Do stoves need to be gimballed on a mono

Point taken on the oven door, but our lock only works in the zero heel position; I think I shall make a lock plate that has several holes so that it can be locked at various angles of heel, thanks...

Re: Pressurized fresh water pump triggered every 2 hours

It's a lot to ask the system to hold pressure indefinitely; I'll bet you never find all the minute leaks. The accumulator could be leaking air as previously mentioned, which is difficult to detect....

Re: Do stoves need to be gimballed on a mono

Our Princess stove would empty everything in your lap if you open the oven door in gimbal mode. Considering the cost it is very disappointing. I have thought about designing a sliding weight system...

Re: Anything wrong with rebuilding?
