I dont understand comments about blutooth gps I have been using the Android app Blutooth Gps to connect to a jentro bluetooth gps. Pairing always happens without fault and connection is 100% reliable...

at last I can display live Ais data on OpenCpn. I use shipplotter and utility program called sp2trax it interfaces via COM with shipplotter And converts the list of ships back to a AiS data stream....

Some progress

You can right click on the folder that contains the ship details which is created in GE by the MarineTraffic kml which updates every 10 mins Save as a kml file. Convert to a gpx file...

I think Tore is only saying that the AIS is displayed in the GE plugin not in OpenCpn as well. The free output from MarineTraffic is in kml format only. For an AIS datafeed you need to contribute...
