Sorry it says it's attached and I can see it on my end. I can't contact the owner, but my guess it's been uncapped for 5 years. On fresh water though, the boat has been on the Great Lakes since...

Re: Catalina 30 cooling question

Thanks so much for your time. I'm going to look as soon as I can make it back to the boat. I don't want to speak too soon, but regrettably I don't believe I have that type of set up .

Re: Catalina 30 cooling question

So if I'm understand correctly, if the shaft/bearing is water cooled the fool proof way to tell is there would be a water line plumbed to it.

Re: Catalina 30 cooling question

Vasco: I did the procedure exactly as you described. I'm assuming antifreeze came out of the exhaust. I use the word assume only because the fluid that came out of the exhaust was very dirty with...

Re: Catalina 30 cooling question

In reply to ontherocks83: I have a pretty clear view of exhaust and muffler. With the amount of water I'm talking about I think/hope I would have noticed a leak. I really don't think I have one. ...

I honesty don't know what kind I have or how to identify. If there was an issue with that seal would there be water intrusion while the boat is in the water. Sorry for not knowing these simple...

Re: Catalina 30 cooling question

I will post there, thank you for advice. Unfortunately it's not the bilge, I have a clear view of where that pumps out. Also it's a constant stream only when the engine is running.
