Re: Electronic Charts for Exumas and Eleuthera

We used the Navionics Gold map chip. And loved it. It covered us all the way down to Georgetown and back. Didn't make it over to Eleuthera, so dont' know about that.

We found the electronic...

Re: Yanmar 2GM20F raw water pump

Yep, the bolts on the plate hold down are a definite improvement . . . . from the phillips head on the original. Much easier to get a small box end wrench on it.

I actually went one step...

Re: Yanmar 2GM20F raw water pump

What Jim bunyard said! I have a 3GM30 in a Catalina 320. I used this company and ordered this exact pump. They are located in Florida. I was disabled and "stuck". Their shipping was same day -...

Re: good safe boat storage out of water southeast Florida

We used Indiantown. Very good service - they really knew what they were doing with the travel left and jack stands. Plus, you get the advantage of a 20 mile motor through freshwater to get there ....

What's better for installing aluminum mast steps: rivets or tapped threads?

I'm installing aluminum mast steps on our mast (Catalina 320). Two processes for attaching these - I'm not sure which method to use:

Stainless Steel rivets - probably 3/16" size. yes, I'll...

Re: Help! Recommendations for affordable liveaboard diy yard / marina in Florida?

I would strongly recommend IndianTown Marina.

They're located about 25 miles inland (relatively safe from major weather events). This is a nice easy motor up the St. Lucie Canal from Stuart...

You can easily do it yourself on the OFFICIAL uscg site.

It just takes some time and a little patience. I think the "wait" to get it back is something like 3 months. BUT, on the USCG site,...
