Re: Hurrican grounding - Advice?

Just from personal experience, I don't recommend the use of a halyard to accomplish mechanically assisted heal; the halyard will very quicky pull to the side of the sheave and bind up. Better to...

Just my $0.02 worth.

The PO, of my boat, installed a "reinforced" eye in the foredeck to facilitate a cutter rig (even went to trouble of adding running backstays to offset). The problem was, the...

Re: Electrical problems on diesel auxiliary

You are possibly experiencing voltage drop. If the engine turns over when you short the solenoid terminal to the +ve lug on the starter, you may need to fit a relay to switch power for the solenoid....

Congrats on the new purchase.

Not meaning to teach the sucking of eggs, but, the netting over the boom cover is not a good idea. It will eventually wear a hole(s) in the cover and...

Re: Latching relay

Not to mention, that the current to latch the relay will be a constant drain on the batteries. It may be small but it must be taken into account.

pirate Re: Ferro Cement Hulls ?

You need to answer the question, " what do I intend to use it for?". If you intend to moor it and live aboard, then it's probably way too much space. If you intend to put it in a marina, you...
