we would use window units for wine cellars. There are refrigeration units that do "high temp" But unlike AC they are just a tad colder and maintain in the 40-65 degree range.

close loop would get cold until it started freezeing. Larger systems, the closed loops (like a ship or high rise bldg) have heating and cooling sources.

Not practical... but how it's done and it works? Look at an ice skating rink. Everything has heat in it. even ice. heating the water to heat it is expensive redundancy. Just use gas or diesel...

What make boat do you have? I knew about plastic stuffing boxes but this the first I've seen they are called "weeping seals" the water lubricates the packing and it stays cooler. Looks good! No...

:) Did a little reading.. seems they are "plunger" pumps rather then piston. I suppose the difference is that they move liquid in a way that would destroy compressor type pistons.

If you used a globe (blue neoprene) impeller it won't work. It looks the same size but won't prime. Well this is my experience a couple of times now after trying to use the Globe impeller.
