As Nohal said for accuracy.

Speed matters because it affects update rates etc..

Is it you throwing the things overboard?

You'll have to be quick and accurate at 8 knots you'll be covering...

I assumed that it came from the vector charts. Mapmedia CMap in that case. But couldn't the same thing be done with any vector chart?

Otherwise perhaps some gridded data such as this from GEBCO...

I would like to add a feature request to add the ability to overlay coloured depth shading to vector charts.

My preference would be for a button/icon on the toolbar similar to the AIS one .
