OpenCPN will portray the object as coded in the chart. It will not invent anything. That's why: what does the Object Query tell about the light?

5.5 is experimental/in development so you can expect all weird experiences.


For 5.6 (i.e 5.5 stable) there will be a common plug-in for oeSENC and oeRNC and thus oeSENC will be deprecated....

CM93/3 can't be used under OpenCPN today.
Would require some plug-in for this actual C-Map format.

Even quite expensive multifrequency band GPS receivers with external differential corrections will show some noise. Overkill for a pleasure craft anyhow.

Douwe's idea should work quite well for...

The number of satellites in use does not depend from OpenCPN.

Depending on the quality (estimation) of the internal filters of the GPS will discard satellites which do not increase the quality of...

can you try to catch the NMEA stream?
Depending on the reception quality and the internal filter of the GPS noise can appear as speed.

Now everything copied (plus compared what was missing when looking at 4.4.0) and 4.5 starts - and crashes directly.

Running of 4.5 does not work for me.
Win 8.1 complains about missing dlls

Tried --release and --debug
Same story.
Both build ok, just the 26 warnings.
