As EPIRB's or PLB's with AIS or DSC support are attached to vessels & liferafts, or crew members respectively, you do want to update the position of these objects on the chart as the poor souls drift...

Developer time and access to Raymarine's proprietary Seatalk HS protocol is not readily available nor dirt cheap.

Have you taken a network capture of the traffic on the Seatalk HS Ethernet network...

A valid GPS fix, but incorrect date/time sounds very much like the GPS week rollover error that occurred last year. IIRC GPS week zero is 6/1/1980 which is remarkably similar to the date in your logs...

If you are interested in testing receiving AIS data and you are connected to the Internet then you can manually add any of those AIS servers to OpenCPN.

Go to Options -> Connections -> Add...
