Well I know more then a few of that era needed hulls rebuilt thanks to osmosis from the internal water tanks leaching thru. I would do a very thorough survey and if,he won't allow the winning bidder...

We passed 2.5 years ago on a 39 privilege for 40k. Both engines ran well. Rig was good, boat was a nightmare of neglected deck penetrations, leaks and leaking windows, and the wiring was ripped apart.

I like it has the outboard , it will need repairs done on the bulkhead that the chain plates attach too, a fairly common repair on the gems. Good price though

Going to guess you could easily dump another 20k + in a rig and sails and hardware even w a used boom and mast. Might not be such a deal.
That intercat is a better deal on a roomier nicer newer...

Its cheap and a project, though by the time you replace 1 engine, 1 saildrive, rigging, sails, batteries, electrical, reefer, ac, and who knows what else, you'll have about 25k more in it than she's...

With the strbrd hull cracked open at the top outer edge Id be worried about moisture in the balasa core. If there isnt a core issue all over probably a decent deal.
