To temporarily get a chart out of your face...there's also the "Remove from Quilt" option. Just right-click the chart's button in the chart bar.

added..of course quilting is "On" for this.

Installing OpenCPN 3.0 should give you these two plugins updated and compatible.
Enable em in the toolbox and all should be well.

..I tried this command in Puppy and I get about 84mb for OpenCPN with about 5 charts on the chartbar but minimal plugins engaged. 189mb for Firefox(just 3point something and screwed down ) ...
