Some of these are special "water ski" areas. Seems strange to ban anchoring at night as you don't typically water ski at night.

With this logic most places are ok with even losing a little money on a mooring field so they can take care of the "problem"

In St Aug a bunch of boats moved few miles south, but lots did also...

I personally feel derelict boats have been intentionally left to collect in many areas so that cities can point to a problem and the need to ban anchoring. The worst area I have seen is Cocoa Beach....
