I understand what you are saying but I think you are missing something of a more emotional issue. HF radios, and electronics in general, are like "magic" to a lot of people. They are intimidated. ...

Attached is a picture of the plate on the 802 from the owner. It is just the number I gave you. He also says it has an MMSI programmed in but doesn't know if it is the first time or not. ...
