Or allow the user to "lock" to a chart via the chart bar, so opencpn doesn't switch to the next chart while panning.

oops, rtfm I guess, Thanks! But how would I have known without reading the manual? Maybe put "(F9)" behind "enable quilting" in the settings?

Yes! Or a button/Function key to toggle quilting. I often need to disable the quilting to find navigational notes on the chart, then re-enable quilting after reading the note.

Yeah, Raymarine should have done that. I also killed two seatalk<->nmea converters (E85001). Then I bought a brookhouse nmea multiplexer with seatalk. Works since 2008.

Yep, some inconsistencies....

One button I would like, towards touchscreen (or mouse/pointer only), is F11 = full screen. And to get out of it again. Could be like the printing...

Your system seems similar to mine.

I do like the way OpenCPN handles the input of HDG: At standstill or very slow speed, the COG from a GPS is random. And without HDG, the boat in OpenCPN...

I believe OpenCPN uses HDG if it exists in the NMEA stream, otherwise it uses COG. No manual selection. Maybe add your feature request to OpenCPN::Tracker All Projects: Tasklist...

Careful with the qscat data

The QuikSCAT satellite failed on Nov 23rd 2009. All qscat grib data downloaded from saildocs are data from 11/23 or older, pretty useless.

And don't forget the anchor watch feature request. That would require to zoom in far enough to see the swing radius at anchor, no matter what chart is being used.
