Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

I'm gonna add +1,000 on gravity pots for spraying thinned mixes like gel coat. Wal-Mart has el cheapo pots which work stupendously but are so inexpensive that one does not mind tossing at the end of...

Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

Tough breaks, this is a hard thing to swallow. My deep condolences.

You gonna' take donations? I reckon the professional advice you've given is worth something. This is an opportunity to put money to it. I'll start with $100 if you accept. I do not use PayPal.

Copdots.com

I don't know how much they would help in the recovery but if even one scum sucker was caught it would be worth it. Will workplace or homeowner's insurance cover?

Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

If it were me, even if I was in FLA, I would fly to the PNW to buy a very nice dinner for two for Mineret and his misses. The next night I would ply him with his favorite libation. Then we'd get to...

Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

When I installed natural stone slabs I would polish to 1200 grit and even finer in some cases...until I began to ask myself why? I found most people couldn't see the diff beyond 600. But I sure do...

Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

It's been 16d 4h 32m since the last post in this thread. Updates please. I don't have any questions at this time except perhaps about the deck install. I'm thinking those could be answered but for...

Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

Looking at the portholes it looks like jagged cutouts. Sure, the whole shebang will be covered but a smooth opening (rotozip) would be more shipshape. Do builders rely on great masses of caulking...

Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

I *thought* the holes in the deck were simply to plug the previous screw holes. If you are using those holes for the bleeder I now understand.

To some perhaps the results of this thread are...

Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

You say that like it's a bad thing. I always tried to have multiple projects at once. It helps keep your mind straight, your self organized...if though it may not look it.

Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

Weight multiplied by arm equals moment. A 4,000 lbs weight on a 60 inch arm equals 240,000 inch pounds. In lbs/12 = foot pounds. In your case, assuming the arm is 5 feet (60 inches), you exerted...

Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

I am trying to align this comment with your earlier comment of how tricky this operation, that it potentially could lift the hull off the jacks.

Practically speaking, the hull is stabilized by...

Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

Interesting method. My question, why are you using the block on a lever? Wouldn't bottle jacks work better to control the jacking? Maybe apply some heat to the wing to facilitate bending. That...
