Have you tried using the photolayer plugin? It is in the main catalog. You may need to convert mercator to lat lon.

It could be useful to add to the plugin API to allow retrieval of PICREP as well as OBJNAM from S57 ENC.

OpenCPN HARMONIC.IDX does not contain tidal currents for the UK, only the USA.

There may be a misunderstanding. The VisitMyHarbour plugin will show tidal diamond information on charts throughout the UK/Irish Sea. Irish Sea coverage is not as good...

Here in the UK we have to use licensed UKHO data. Coming to VisitMyHarbour in the near future is a plugin to use UKHO tidal diamonds in the way RythmDoctor envisaged.

The context sensitive menu option for plugins solved my problem! Weather Routing plugin code pointed the way.

The hyperlink for waypoints opens up a lot of possibilities. I can start a small local '.exe' using the file link.

The problem is that the '.exe' does not know anything...

The Garmin GLO bluetooth GPS has a refresh rate of 10hZ. Intend using the GLO to feed the GPS compass on Dashboard to assist the adjustment of magnetic compasses. Ok, COG etc well understood!
