Route difference in Azimith from The Sailings formula?

I plotted a Route from Cape May, NJ (N38d 56.4m)(W074d 51.7d) to the Azores (N38d 27.9m) (W028d 21.8m)


OpenCPN reduced the route into 5 legs. It appears as though the legs are Rhumb lines...
