Re: Latts and Atts: Something happened

Just to be clear, Bob did NOT work for Easyrider. He had his own rag called Biker Lifestyle. His magazine was purchased by Easyrider in 1986 after Paisano Publications took over Easyrider.
And sorry...

Re: Latts and Atts: Something happened

I have mixed feelings about it. I have known Bob for a long time. Never rode with him, but he was at a couple of our events. When I was younger, I read all the biker rags, and Biker Lifestyle was one...

Re: VHF Radios

A couple of weeks ago I purchased a Nautilus Lifeline. I am completely sold on this radio. https://www.nautiluslifeline.com/
It is billed as a diver's radio but I have one for each crew member on my...

Re: Motorcycle on a Sloop ? Ideas Welcome

Riding into Mexico and Canada from the US it was simply a matter of calling my insurance company and obtaining a rider for that trip. I am not sure about other countries but from what I have been...

Re: Bikers on Board ?

Yep, definitely a great little bar hopper. One of the local shops around here had a magnum trike. Used to win best trike every year at our bike show.
My 45 was the best dirt bike I ever owned.

Re: Bikers on Board ?

There has always been a correlation between bikers and sailors. Independent spirit, self sufficiency, nomadic lifestyle, and the camaraderie between sailors is very close to the camaraderie between...

Re: Bikers on Board ?

Nice! Always had a soft spot for the British bikes. Worst wreck I ever had was on a Triumph TT500. Over the bars at 55mph, but managed to ride it home. That was a tough bike.

Re: Bikers on Board ?

Ha ha, I am the first to admit I would rather cross the country on my RK than my Pan. Still, no Evo ever waited for me to catch up.

Re: Bikers on Board ?

Flatheads RULE! Years ago we were building a 40 ULH for Bonneville. I was working with a local builder for some of the finer engineering. I set up a VL frame and tanks with a ratchet top 4 speed a 45...

Re: Motorcycle on a Sloop ? Ideas Welcome

You are on the right track here. I have had most of two of my Harleys on board while building them and that is where my idea came from.
I am debating on the exact model, but I will be building a...

Re: Bikers on Board ?

I also went for a ride today. A couple hundred miles of windy road with one of my bothers and a friend. It was too windy for a day sail, so might as well ride:D
My RK is at around 120,000 miles and...

Re: Any Photographers with DSLR's Around ?

Zabshin,
I highly recommend the Martin Edge book on underwater photography as a starting point. Watch you ports on the Ikelite. Aside from that, keep it well rinsed and it will last you.

The price point is a big issue. As are filters when you are talking about underwater. Here is a video that shows the difference a red filter makes

Re: Underwater Cameras

I agree the Canon handycams are a good option. I am partial to the HF-G10. Put that in a Gates housing with a couple of Sola's and you have a very compact high quality video rig. That said, for those...

Re: Underwater Cameras

You are correct. The GoPro is amazing. However, for underwater use you will need a flat lens housing. The standard housing will not focus underwater. There are several housings out there, but my...

Re: Bikers on Board ?

I have had good Harleys and bad Harleys over the years. As a few days have passed, a few more bikes came to mind such as the pre unit Triumph and the BMW K75. Funny thing, it doesn't really matter...

Re: Old style trimarans: crawlway under mast?

There is allot to be said for keeping flexible. That specific feature of the old Pivers is not the only one that requires some climbing and bending. Just getting in and out of the bunks when half...

Re: Bikers on Board ?

Ah, the list:D
The first bike I rode was an Indian Minibike in 1969.
The first one I owned was a Mini bike of some sort in about 1974
Then there was a CT200 (Early Honda CT90)
RD350
Suzuki...

Re: Old style trimarans: crawlway under mast?

An therein lies the problem. The crossbeam is designed where it is. To reinforce and raise it would be a complete redesign of the boat. Likely more weight, definitely more windage and worse...

Hey Knotty and Gord. Glad to see you two still here as well.
If the mods let me post anywhere besides this thread I will try to toss in something useful now and then.
