Had a very quick and helpful response from Navionics.
They said they had pulled the Android marine software in order to correct some functionality issues. New apps will be available...

Their software is definitely gone from the Google Play Store, but interestingly it is still on the Apple App Store!

My software - on a Samsung Tab - quit working after it did an (unprompted)...

Gartside Marine up in Sidney has a very solid reputation. Their website is down, but you can still get the phone number online. A few of my friends have used them and been happy with the results.
