Re: Bareboat Charter -BVI- Dream Yacht Charter Review
Just read about a charter group with 31 people got cancelled by Dream Yacht just days before the charter. Money refunded, but they had all bought plane tickets, etc that weren’t refundable. To sue... |

Re: Panama to Caribbean Islands in May/June
We are in Bocas del Toro. Some good advice given. We are in Panama, because it's way better than the Eastern Caribbean. It's just gone to crap. If I were needing to be in Europe, I think... |

Re: ISLANDER 36- Already out there
Wow. I don't NEED another boat. If you had told me it was in French Polynesia, and it was imported with the VAT paid... Hmm. Anyway, don't fret too much. Keep at it. Too many people make a... |

Re: 3YM30 fresh water flush with hose?
Those Yanmar pumps are stupid expensive. Our just crapped out. Found a replacement: Try Dan at depcopump.com. danr@depcopump.com |

Re: Yanmar High Temp0 Reading
We have the opposite problem. Sender alarm goes off, water temp is 75C. Replaced both sensors. Thought: Swap your sensors on your water pump. Put the temp gauge sensor where the temp... |

Re: Boat shoe lifespan
I THINK I figured out the Sperry sole hardening problem. We live in South Texas, and now our boat is in Panama. Because it's often hot, I'd kick my shoes off when visiting other boats - or when on... |

Re: Seawater Pro 24v system
We have the 110v unit. Only installed for about 9 months, but used a lot in Panama. We have a small oil leak in the pump. About a teaspoon every 10 hours. Don't want to pull the pump to... |

Re: Fixed window replacement - Dow 795 still the sealant of choice?
As others have said, be VERY aware of dates on these products. Also, removing old caulk that had silicone in it, is also VERY difficult. The only thing I've found that works is a product called... |

Re: Weird coolant leak on Yanmar diesel
A couple of other quick thoughts: The "radiator" cap has a gasket on it. They don't last forever. The water pump (coolant circulation, not seawater) has a limited life, just like on cars. They... |

Re: Catana 471 vendor hiding survey
Jeez. IF the surveyor wrote the survey "correctly", it can't be used by you. I'm a real estate appraiser, and my closest friend is a real estate inspector. These reports (combined they are similar... |

Re: Perkins M90 hydrolocked, what to do?
Well done. What you did was what I would have done. If this worked, you dodged a serious bullet. |

Re: sources for 1/4 Corian or solid surface material
Another vote for solid surface.com. They are great. And yeah, it’s a snowstorm with 3” of snow on the cabin sole. Or stuck to you and everything else. But a VERY satisfying project. |

Re: Repower Yanmar or Beta Pearson 424
Beta. The reason Yanmars are all over is because they give them away to builders, and then the boat owner gets the shaft on the obscenely expensive parts. |

Re: Advice on Barnegat or Manasquan inlets
Good advice above. I’ve done Barnagat a few times over the years - grew up on LBI. Choose your weather and tide wisely, and follow a local in. |

Re: Raymarine Axiom Pro 9s freezes
We had many problems with our Axiom 12 during our trip from Texas to Panama. Raymarine support suggested we throw the unit away (out of warranty) and buy a new one. Seriously. |

Re: Watermaker - high TDS with new filters
It's not your filters. They are there just to keep the membrane from clogging. Something is getting past your membrane(s). Can you isolate them to see if it's just one of them? A simple bronze... |

Re: Awlwood Application-Brush, Roller or?
I used foam brushes. I didn't sand between coats, only before the last coat. Seems to work fabulously. Our boathook has had Awlwood for over 5 years, and it's just starting to fail. And it rolls... |

Re: Laser range finder for measuring bridge height
We use laser measuring devices in our work every day. Leica (Disto) makes the best ones. The Bosch lasers are just not worth investing in. Plan on $5-600. To measure, use an angle measuring... |

Re: Aft ac unit water flow restricting.
You are going to have to trouble shoot this to find out where the blockage is. Could be as simple as a jellyfish on the intake. Or a pump that's not primed/priming. |
