Perhaps you should do some trial liveaboard stuff on rented boats in your post-home budget. And by the way with current inflation rates I'd calculate what you can get and then buy something right...

If I run it without oil, it will obviously not enter forward gear since there is no oil pressure- I should probably run it on mostly water again (that's how it got stuck in fwd originally) to get it...

Hi boys, thanks for the response. As I said, it had been locked in forward and then loosened up again, and is now slipping. I want it locked beause I dont need a transmission on this boat

First, the jet drive dingy was stuck in forward, only it wasn't...

I had this issue on my jet drive dingy, only it wasn't really an issue, since I could use the the "bucket" on the drive as gears by directing the jet drive output, even though I suspect thre may have...

The data you are looking for is simply not widely available or present in digital format.

The US pilot charts (free via opencpn website) contain average ocean currents by month :thumb:

You have to put rope on in entirely unloaded condition and turn rope onto spring while tensioning it (in correct direction!).

I feel the main difference between flying and sailing my boat is that I do the travelling, as opposed to merely being transported, and the difference between hostels and staying on my floating camper...
