Re: Furling boom

I still wonder if anyone who now sails with a boom furler, and is sailing deep broad or downwind, and prior to gale force winds decides to reef -
can you not sheet in the main to the furling angle...

Re: How to inspect Norseman terminals

2 pics of what i think is pitting on terminal top where wire enter.

Re: How to inspect Norseman terminals

glad you asked this question.
I see light rust stain on the wire going into the terminal. I could easily clean the stain. But- New boat to me, 10 years old. The terminal and turnbuckles...

Re: Integrel - alternative to diesel gen set?

As of two or three months ago, integral required a minimum 35 hp engine to support their system, as well as suitable space for the mounting plates.

Re: Selling my boat

Rigging suffers by type of use, upkeep, materials as well as age.

Before you dismiss your buyer’s counter offer out of hand, look at the deal from his view and you might discover where or why...

Re: Furling boom

With a boomfurler and wind abaft the beam-
can you not simply sheet in the main to the furling angle while maintaining heading?
If breeze is too strong and boat tender, then head more downwind...

Re: YachtWorld changes filters again

CF and TF dont allow takeover or phony virus ads.
I once got a phony virus screen on CF and emailed the mods. They said thanks for letting them know and they changed that banner broker immediately.

Re: Yanmar 3GM30Fe low power when cold

Runs OK with no load? Hmmmmm. A little fouling really messes with everything.

Re: electric Seawind 1000 XL2

Re: electric Seawind 1000 XL2

@sailingharry your experience and analysis of use cases is spot on. I can see a day in the near future when boats with electric propulsion will need to depreciate enough to justify refit with a...
