If you stay at a marina in Queensland, Australia, you will have to sign a waiver and so I follow suit and everyone sailing on my boat has to sign an "Agreement to Hold Harmless" if it is worthless...

If you are chased by pirates turn your boat around and ram them and if you miss they may think you was trying to surrender. Bullets coming at you head on are likely to do less harm.
