Owning a 50 year old Perkins 4-236 I totally agree with the idea of closing the raw water source until you get the motor running to alleviate the problem of water coming in from the exhaust...

Re: Seller replaced ice chest w dorm fridge - should it bug me soo much?

Re: Seller replaced ice chest w dorm fridge - should it bug me soo much?

Ha, I did exactly the same thing on my boat. I had cold plates and the PO put a propane fridge in. I hated that thing so I took it out and replaced with a dorm fridge and a dorm freezer and I love...

Re: La Vagabonde Contractory Stories

It is simple, I don't give any of them ****. This is for armchair sailors that will never get off their ass and sail. I would rather invest that money in a new Mantus 1 200 lb anchor or better yet...

Re: Difference between boats and ships

Same here, Laughs, I remember the days of hand coding without a compiler. computing jumps tables and entry points. Thank god for sailboats, Visual Studio Code, and Good Single Malt Booze. I take it...

Re: Crew, the world and sad, sad evolution...

I totally agree. We semi-dinosaurs are still a handful, see life through an awesome lense of living in some great times, and love our old classic plastic with full keels and no trampolines.

Don't...

Re: Standing Rigging Replacement - How Frequently?

Re: Frustrated Seller - Tartan 37

I just view your add on Yachtworld and a very nice looking boat. I would think after two years you would get rid of the broker. I recently bought another boat and was on the market for over 3 years...

Re: Help Please --- First Time $1M+ Purchase

More important is how many choose this lifestyle and are still in love with it. You have to try to find out if you like it. If it cost a million and does not work out, then sell the boat for 900000...

Re: wires burned up with 4 100 watt panels

I agree with this. I run 600W in two string of 300W per string wired in series for a Max Output of 72V at 15A into a 100/20 Victron MPPT Smart Solar. Each string has its own controller as I have...

Re: Is this a bad idea?
