Re: SpaceX launching 60 Starlink Sats Tomorrow!

Brian's skepticism is certainly warranted, there have been attempts by folks with deep pockets to launch satellite internet for years. From a recent interview: Musk on #Starlink: "This is one of the...

Re: Why is finding/buying a boat so hard? What to do about it?

I'm a software guy and get your issues but none will provide the essential element, touch. Go touch boats, a lot. Chat with folks ask to look at their engine. I read and searched and read more and it...

Re: Sailing very dangerous--for the elderly!

This headline and post and some replies make me mad. No one should be jumping on a boat or dock in a storm, on a sunny day for a swim sure.

Re: Chartplotter and Radar for Sailboat - recommendations wanted

Are the new digital radar systems anything that will be affordable in the foreseeable future? Very light weight/low power/instant on seem like a good combo for a small sailboat.

No not shorter than my boat, I'm 6' - Hugo Vilhen crossed the Atlantic in 1968 in the April Fool with a LOA of 5' 11'' .

Re: Solo cruising vs crew cruising

On this forum you will find controversy reviewing "single handed sailing" but there are many single handers that made port. The term "blue water sailboat" has also inspired vigorous discussion, much...

Re: Backflow Valve in Bilge Pump Drain - Good Idea?

I was thinking of adding a small extra pump just for the last inch or so that would be on a separate on demand when I wanted to fully dry out that last annoying bit without leaning stretching way...

Re: Tell me about Solo Sailing

Single handed is certainly harder than having an experienced crew of crack sailors that know you and your boat well, but so so much easier than most other situations. :-)

It is also hard if one...

Re: Probably a dumb question, about boat color, but....

Just did this for the price of a haul and the paint. Looks great. Timing for good weather is tricky, caught two cool dry mornings with hot afternoons.

Near the end I was given this aphorism: the...

Re: Getting from land to my boat
