I didnt worry about tolerance and replaced anyway. Once the engine was "open" we thought we would rather replace most of the pieces hopping that we dont have do this anymore over the next 30 years ;)

That's actually not a bad idea!!! the only downside to it is that we will probably need another pump/faucet... we will end up with three: salt water (from ocean), potable water (from new small tank)...

Those infrared lights work pretty good. I tried them in my garage to cure polyester resin in my garage in cold weather and it worked!!

If anyone has more recommendations for potable water...

I went ahead and cut the top off. Plan is to sand down all old coat of gelcoat, recoat it with a safe product for potable water and fiberglass it back together. Fingers crossed... I am optimistic...
