Re: Cabin Sole finish recommendations?

I've used Bona Traffic, a water borne finish we used for durable finish on oak floors. Two parts, easy application, rapid curing and easy clean up.

Re: Coolant Leak 3GM30f

Thanks again Bill, What I'll do is fill the tank and run the engine while carefully checking fo a leak, especially around the heat exchanger.

Re: Coolant Leak 3GM30f

Hi Bill

Thanks for the reply. If I fill the tank as I did on my way from Houma LA to Progreso Mexico, it seems like maybe about 24 hours motoring causes the engine to lose at least a quart of...

Re: Potable water pump ?

We have a Shurflo Aqua King II, 3.0gpm. It supplies a strong, steady flow, but I am going to install a Shurflo accumulator ($46.00 on Amazon or $36.00 for a generic twin) to save wear on the pressure...

Thanks, gonesail, I did replace the washers on each side of the secondary filter, but not all in the system. Perhaps need to check that.

Re: 3GM30f loses prime

Thanks again, I obviously need all the help I can get. I'll unscrew the top of the Racor and assure that the filter element is sealed and the gasket not leaking. As I replaced with new I assumed that...

Re: 3GM30f loses prime

Thanks Engine Man,
That's a good idea which makes me hopeful! Hard for me to run the return in a "U", but I can easily run the line up before down to the tank. In fact, I'll do a test by running...

Re: 3GM30f loses prime

Expanded reply to Tkeithlu:
I'll check that bleed screw, perhaps replace it. Both prime pump and Racor have ball checks. I have looked at the prime pump check, but assumed that the new Racor check...

If I prime my 3GM (bleed screw on secondary filter and bleed screw on injector pump,...

Re: Harken identification needed

Looks like a MK1 or II. The opening in the MKII drum has a bracket around it that the MKI does not have, I believe, so it should be easy to ID the Series, but I'm not sure how to distinguish between...

Re: Raw water pump repeatedly leaking

Perhaps you need a new shaft also. Go to Marineparts_pumps on ebay. You'll probably find a kit for your pump and you can buy with a shaft, bearings preinstalled so you do not need a press to...
