SL 555 Seatiger windlass rebuild
This summer my trusty SL 555 windlass failed; it stopped ratcheting one direction. I was out in the wild at the time, and did a temporary fix which consisted of cleaning out all of the grease (which...

I think the beefy snap rings are just because those are the standard size. They were very easy to find on the internet at less than $2. I think that what made them so difficult to remove was a slight...

I hear you; the guts are a potpourri of dissimilar metals. The main gears are all regular steel, which means they corrode onto their respective bronze or SS shafts, making removal a nightmare; you...

No, you can tie a halyard around the foil to keep it on the stay, then remove the drum set screws, turnbuckle and fittlngs, tap the drum off the foil. It will drop off the bottom. Put the turnbuckle...

Profurl P40 Rebuild
At the beginning of last season I found my P40 jib furler drum frozen up. I was able to get it turning at the time by putting the furling line on a winch (a real no-no) and breaking it loose. I knew...

Seatiger 555 Windlass
My veteran 555 windlass failed the first time out this spring. Instead of ratcheting back and forth the gypsy turned back and forth. I popped off the bottom cover and found the grease inside had...

Brookhouse IMUX – ST: lost password
Good morning brain trust,

More info: I took a walk over to her boat and I am looking at the data plate. The sail drive is a 130S-A. The Volvo specs say ATF and it has 15W40 in it. So what is the drill from here?

Xantrex Freedom 20 cooling fan type?
My fan is dying. I thought I was clever and got the info I needed before I left the boat... I measured it at 5" x 5" x 1" and it says 12 v 0.72 A. However, when googling it I see it must be a 120 mm...
