Re: Potential Buyer Asking for a "Test Drive"

Nah, I read your post. No need to be impressed about what isn't my point.

You feel that you can waste people's time even when you are not in a position to perform. Got it.

Hey, buying multiple...

Re: Potential Buyer Asking for a "Test Drive"

I started buying boats when there was no internet.

Soundings and Cruising World were the resources. I looked at the ads and went to boat shows.

When I was ready to financially commit I called a...

Re: WWV / WWVH Petition

Back in my time we would be underwater for 60/70 days.

Our main navigation was by Ships Inertial Navigation System (SINS).

Re: motor yacht propellers

Hatteras has been doing this in their MY/SF models for years; large multi-bladed props with deep gears. Some were almost 4-1 reduction.

But those are boats that get up on plane.

Not sure how...

Re: Potential Buyer Asking for a "Test Drive"

Kind of illogical to think that someone with a boat to sell wouldn't want to sell it to you.

I don't get why "buyers" think wasting the owners time is perfectly OK because maybe some day they...

It was cozy but overall a pain.

Cutting the wood small enough was time consuming.

Removing the ashes from the fire box was...

Re: Potential Buyer Asking for a "Test Drive"

The OP said that he was quite willing to provide a test sail. He wanted to make sure that the buyer was ready willing and able to buy HIS boat as a result.

The stories of"buyers" showing up...

Re: Potential Buyer Asking for a "Test Drive"

No, it is a market. It takes both parties to make a deal.

But, as has been noted, not everyone who wants to spend an afternoon on the water is a buyer.

You were a buyer so good for you but...

Re: Is Singlehanding >24 Hrs. Morally Wrong?

I don't want to be misconstrued as being argumentative but the wording to me is completely unambiguous.

Re: Implication of: "Not for sale to US residents while in US waters to a Canadian"?

It means that US duty has not been paid so the...
