Catalina 320 to 355

I have a question for Catalina 320/355 owners.
We are currently sailing a 2006 320 Catalina and Love the boat but we keep looking at the 355 for years now and think we could love that one even more....

Thank you for your thoughts and I couldn't agree more , the sandblasting is a scary process that is why my plan was to spread the whole sanding the hull over some years. We are in Brisbane Australia...

Bottom Paint

We bought a Catalina 320 with a thick skin of old ablative bottom paint. I looks like 4 to 5 mm thick. My plan was every year sand more off than putting back on so in 3 or 4 years it should be back...

Yes Fixtech 200 is the best product on the market here in Australia. It does take some time to cure properly so no good for rush jobs but it sticks and seems pretty UV resistent . Not sure how...

Sikaflex is not the best produce to use on Perspex or plexiglass windows . They did develop a primer to improve the adhesion to poly plastics but people in the trade don’t use it for that

Life lines

On our Catalina we have wire and plastic coated life lines from 2006. I would like to replace them with double braid low stretch rope.
I have looked at other boats and mostly see bare steel cable...

Thank you for your thoughts Jim, I think you are right it is covered by stainless steel and I would get tired of removing the cover every time we use it.
