Re: Whats the best way to grow sprouts on a boat with minimal water and won't go mush

That's how mine are. A plastic jar (probably peanut butter :thumb:) with an aluminum screen, the type you get for windows, held on with a rubberband. Just rinse directly and drain the water without...

Re: Halyard for old-style roller furling

Yeah you don't see them very often these days. Mine came with the boat. I have hank-ons too but I use the furler almost exclusively. I'd prefer a normal furler because they're a bit smoother and...

Re: Halyard for old-style roller furling

I have the same furler and use a regular sta-set halyard. As long as the swivel at the top is working properly you shouldn't have any twisting issues or wear on the halyard

Re: Another pressure cooker question

Re: Marina liveaboard advice needed, Magothy river.

No no, I love my marina. $7.25 per foot (30 foot min), no liveaboard fee, metered electric, decent bath houses, swimming pools, tiki bar, restaurant, ships store, beach across the street, easiest...

Re: Marina liveaboard advice needed, Magothy river.

Just keep in mind that's probably with a year lease. Good option if you know you'll be staying that long.

I found that when I got to this town, there were a few marinas I didn't know about from...

Re: Marina liveaboard advice needed, Magothy river.

In my marina the water is free. Whether it comes out of the hose and into the tanks of a 50 footer or out of the shower head in the marina restroom makes no difference. Electricity is metered....

Re: How to Secure Boat to Piling

For sandy I used a clove hitch finished with half hitches. I used two lines on the piling, one high and one low, so I wouldn't have to make any adjustments at the piling with the tides. The lines...

Re: Frankenstorm!

I put two lines on the piling, one high and one normal. Today was the first time I had to adjust them since the tide finally went out a bit. I just loosen one and tighten the other according to the...

Re: Hurricane Sandy

Finishing prep this morning. How do you guys handle tying to a fixed piling or dock? I have a floating dock on one side and a piling between me and the other boat on the aft end of the slips. I'd...

Or maybe that's just an optical illusion... I don't know.

Of course, I don't remember anyone in the trailer park complaining about the run-down trailers......
