the oil fills the leg and transmission so when the bottom seal fails oil can run out or worse water gets in and the oil then looks like milk best bet pull the boat check the bottom drain plug open...

the sail drive shaft seal most likely is leaking i had this happen after 12 years and was a simple fix but had to pull the boat out press in a new seal

yes my inner seal tore apart after 12 years while in the water but the outer seal held i was able to replace the seal but had to haul the boat out to do so the engine was a 2GM-20 now have the 1D-30...

Yes i have them on my cat for 15 years i attached them with thin strips of stainless and screws lasted 5 years each time would not want the inners to fail but that will happen when you let the sea...

FYI i have a Mastervolt combi 4000 watts works great no problem for last 7 years and can be controlled by the masterview panel need a larger battery bank to run large loads this will run my A/C
