Like MarkJ I know the family, and took a call Tuesday PM from the distraught Dad, in Europe at the time.

The picture isn’t her last - she went up the mast many times as part of her work.

With the ARC, you leave 3rd Sunday in November. After that time, you could get into Las Palmas marina no problem... and there would be crew hanging about the marina there very ready and willing to...

Sigh!

It is not a matter of whether I "like it or not". He's on that route, started Sunday on 40ft boat 5ish knots as sthey all do, all as per OP, with limited ability (emails from satphone)...

But bolt cutters will get though the dinghy fittings, very easily. So no point in kryptonite stuff if you are tying it to dink - they're meant to lock up a motorbike or suchlike which is even harder...

I recently had another dinghy stolen, in St Martin. It was locked up, on a skid, in a marina behind locked gates with the bung removed, but they still carted it away.
