My two panels are in series but at one point the Port panel was shade free but the Starboard panel had one corner cell completely shaded by the boom.

The Build it Solar didn't test for that sort...

Did you have a look at "Build it Solar" test results? Any thoughts? If you can go by their results a shadow from a mast stay wouldn't have much effect at all?

I installed these panels just to keep the batteries "topped up".

I do plan to install X2 150W (1.2M X .9M) for charging the house bank

Incidentally do you keep your bilge pumps on "auto" all...

But if it is cored then water could leak through (say) the Starboard hand rail mounting and then migrate and exit some distance away

Well if I did fit a stern and bow thruster I'd only want them in the water while docking. Others get by without thrusters so I'll try to do likewise. :thumb:
