Re: Nicholson 38 sunk on Baja Ha-Ha

I could not disagree more. Having watched the preparation of Rebel Heart in person for months I saw nothing that I would fault.

What inverter won't it work with ?

The Sailrite should not even know that it is an inverter if it is a true sine inverter at the correct Hz.

Bizarre claim.

Re: Rudder stuffing box leaking...can't adjust..seal from the outside?

Wax from a toilet seal can be forced in around the rudder shaft from the outside. It won't be a perfect seal but certainly reduce the flow. Did that with the propshaft when a couple of 100 miles...

I don't know if that is an original statement but it is quotable !

Anyone who ignores it deserves keel-hauling.

Re: Impounded boats in Mexico

Glad you and Charlotte and the girls are OK.

She had us thinking we should not cross over to La Cruz but we'll blame it on the vapors and stick to our loose plan. Look forward to hearing Cora...

The rules are here:

Crewmember Visas (https://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_5005.html)

The interview conducted in the US embassy abroad...

Re: Impounded boats in Mexico

And try getting a tourist visa in the US if you arrive on a private boat or plane from outside N. America - won't happen.

Re: Are Electric Outboards Any Good ?

Reading this thread makes me realize that no serious maritime exploration was ever possible before the invention of the steam engine. :whistling:

Re: Are Electric Outboards Any Good ?

For right now (1 year) we are all electric. We use a Minn Kota 55 and have two Lifeline 50 Ah AGM batteries. All solar since May of 2012.

Re: Origo 6000
