With the obvious foundation of common sense, local knowledge and paper charts, I don't see any reason why an iPhone can't be considered as reliable as any other compact electronic chart plotter......

GPSutility did indeed "alter" the file... apparently the first 10 waypoints are "connected" as a route, but the subsequent 70+ are not. Seems it's a GPSutility problem, not an OpenCPN problem...
