Re: Sharing the mainsail sheet winch

Re: Sharing the mainsail sheet winch

Thanks for the replies. Definitely losing the club boom. It’s always in the way, and just scares the crap out of me in general. Too many horror stories. Besides, the mounting pillars and holes for...

Sharing the mainsail sheet winch

I have a Cabo Rico 38 that I'm doing a total refit on. I'm getting rid of the staysail club boom and it's associated traveler. The old staysail sheet was a single line which ran up the side deck. ...

Re: Westerbeke 46 Fresh Water pump??

A Westerbeke W46 is based on a Mitsubishi engine. I believe it’s a model 4dq5 if I remember right. You might be able to get parts at a Mitsubishi industrial shop, but be prepared for resistance. They...

Re: Replacing seacocks, Groco IBV with base or FBV?

Another benefit of the IBVF setup is that you can use a bronze street elbow between the flange adapter and the valve for a much lower profile installation.

Re: Lithuim AND Lead acid in same bank?

I saw that RAN sailing on YT is installing an LFP bank. He’s using a BMS from https://batterybalance.com/x2-bms-12-24/. It’s a hybrid lead/lfp setup with separate load and charge buses. Looks really...

Glad you liked Little Bay. It’s at the end of my street. Hopefully you explored AntiPoison creek and the little sand island. Lots of fun to had [emoji16]

Re: Is Lithium Worth it?

Thank you. The above, incorrect, assertion is often stated here. It always bugs me. The only lithium cells that aren’t lithium-ion, are lithium metal cells, and are generally non-rechargeable...

Re: Holding tank leak into bilge

What? Sorry, but incorrect. There is no reaction between salt water (NaCl) and bleach (NaOCl).

However, don’t mix bleach with ammonia. That would be bad.

Re: Small genset or additional fuel tank?

Thanks for your input. I had originally considered the Nexgen 3.5. It was a snug fit in the Laz as you say. No way would fit under the cockpit sole. I bought a Mastry M4000, which used to be sold...

Re: Wind Sensor Fail

Reviving this thread to ask dockhead what sensor he ultimately installed. I’m about to pull the trigger on a CV-7, and I figured I’d ask what you installed and how it’s worked out for you.
