Re: Review: running an airco from (lithium) batteries - with actual consumption data

Hi Dan,
There 3 elements that make noise:
1. The compressor
2. The fan + air duct
3. The water feed pump

In our case we installed the compressor under our bed but there's a layer of stuff in...

Re: Anyone sail a Bene Excess cat?

Although somewhat of topic;we did replace the standard Excess 11 steering wheels (Pulse Line color) with one size bigger; of the Excess 12. Gives a better feel as well.

Re: Review: running an airco from (lithium) batteries - with actual consumption data

Hey Eric Jan, I don’t have an accurate de meter but the noise you hear comes from the air duct and the fan. Not from the unit itself. I installed it under our bed on a vibration absorbing mat. Not...

Re: New Excess Catamarans!

I agree on that comparing Polars is always a bit tricky. When going upwind (or downwind) we always have the up/downwind VMG on our displays. As you mentioned polars are about pointing (heading) but...

Re: Anyone sail a Bene Excess cat?

Hi,
Your questions are very a valid, let me comment on them.
Because your standing roughly 50cm above the water line, the motion is much less than on a flybridge/sporttop, so that's benefit and...

Review: running an airco from (lithium) batteries - with actual consumption data

Hi,
In the past I've used this forum several times to ask questions and I was surprised how quick my questions were answered. One topic "if it's possible to run an a/c from you batteries" was quite...

Re: Help - Zen (50) watermaker making VERY loud humming noise

* Problem Solved *

There were 2 hose clamps left over after the installation. They slid under the watermaker and generated a loud humming sound when the resonated at different vibrations.

The...

Re: Anyone sail a Bene Excess cat?

Hi there; we just crossed the Bay of Biscay with our Excess 11. She handled the fairly rough weather pretty well (note; we also own/sail a Dehler 38SQ from 2019 - which serves as our point of...

Re: Anyone sail a Bene Excess cat?

Hi Rapiti,
The Excess boats indeed look more sportive than Lagoons but there some big, structural differences between them. It's also true that the Excess 12 has the same middle mold (which is 2/3...

Re: Anyone sail a Bene Excess cat?

It depends how many people you expect to have on board. For 2 persons there's more than enough storage for liveaboards. We just loaded up our Excess 11 with everything we need for a full year of...

Re: Anyone sail a Bene Excess cat?

Hi there!

Disclaimer to start: we bought an Excess 11 but will try to be as neutral as possible.

We also sailed FP 40/45 and 47, Lagoon 40/42 and also own a Dehler38SQ (2020) and Dufour45...

Any fellow Excess Catamaran 11/12/15 owners?

We're awaiting the delivery of our Excess 11 catamaran in April 2021 and are curious if there are fellow Excess owners on the CF forum.

We're especially interested in learning from other owners...

Re: New EXCESS 11

Re: New EXCESS 11

Hi Watergirl_2018,
Not sure if you've pulled the trigger on the Excess (or any other boat). As mentioned we did. As it's a fairly new brand we also created a dedicated Facebook Excess Owners group:...
