so.......

waiting for the survey report, but the sea trial never really commenced as the steering failed on the way out of the anchorage....also the bow thruster failed...
crept back to the jetty...

So, I had the reply from Hanse:

The paste is a bonding paste like Spabond or 1152 paste which is an epoxy and is a strong, hard setting material.

We don’t have any mounting instructions for...

Both owners say no work done in that area, so the picture has gone off to Hanse with the hull number for comment..

It looks to me, the upper bearing mount has been reinforced from below to either strengthen, for some reason, or seal from water ingress.

There was a steering issue and long transit to a repair...

I have no idea about the caulking/sika.....it looks like a fudge for a battery platform

As the the rudder tube....looks like extra fibreglass ??

I looking for thoughts before I waste another...

As the 'new target' boat has been 'wintered' since COVID started it has been unused and on the hard.

I will be contacting the broker anyway to ask lots of questions and asking for a 'video...

With COVID-19 travel/quarantine restriction I haven't got the money/stomach for endless quarantine as it eats into my purchase funds....

Already down 2000GBP with cancelled...

I managed to get my deposit back thankfully and started looking again.

Found another boat, but the seller pulled out a few days before I was due to fly out for viewing/survey....:rolleyes:

It has been rejected again. The boat "is dead to me" as they say.

The stress with this whole process has gone, which is the main thing. It was making me unwell.

It seems the broker expected me to pay up after the after survey was undertaken, and not after I had received, read and examined the photos of the survey.

It took 12 days to get that report from...

Any reasonable person would allow me to reject the purchase , providing I did so within the contract restrictions.

I am also of the opinion its my contract as I paid for it and I believe I don't...

The issue is one of time. The broker wants a answer by Monday as to whether I will proceed with the sale. I don't think the seller want to delay whilst I have it investigated.

No leaks mentioned in the survey, even if there is one present now....thats how much faith I'm putting into his report.....hence all my worries..

As it seems the only way to end this dispute ,and get my deposit back, is to use an independent surveyor, focussing only on this issue, then thats what I must do. I will insist on being present when...
