I hope its the seal as that would be an easy fix.

I will check the sleeve sealant point as I'm pretty sure its pressed on (with heat etc).

The upper/lower leg - with bad o-rings (or worse),...

We have a pair of Twin Disc SP60's with 27hp engines in front of them.

And once again we have 1 saildrive with water in it. Here is the quick history.

Nope but the topic starter has only 20HP if I read that right.

And yes, locking reverse when sailing. Next to the annoying very light rattle ;) the manual says you can't leave it in neutral...

fixed 2 blade 14x11 (If i remember right)

with Vetus 27HP M3.28 engines on a Fountaine Pajot Venezia 42 catamaran.
(Wouldn't mind a bit more power, but it is what it is)

Our boat has them since 2013, 800 ish hours and they seem good. Hope they stay that way.

In a facebook group someone shared that it might have to do with the placement of the compass. And that I should try sailing on windhold and see if that is better.

Yeah suspected to fill it with clean ATF.

Maybe an additional 'hail mary' question, say it was overfilled a bit, and it 'blew' the seal and water got it. When i re-fill it with enough clean...

The boat is in the water.

I can vacuum (some) out of it, and then replace with clean? see what happens?

I'm going to call the mechanic tomorrow, then probably search for a wharf :S... and...

Thank you for the fast response, so water ;( really unhappy with that.

Saildrive is a Twin Disc SP60 with a Vetus M3.28 in front of it.
Oil is ATF Dexron II

I emailed the mechanic already +...

Well got a couple more pictures. This has been taken soon after running the saildrive slowly forward & backward for 5ish minutes.

Lets give the cup some time.

Absolutely Deblen, I will plan on sucking half a cup from it in the next days or so and see what happens. Maybe let it run a bit for say 15 minutes to 'mix it good' before sucking it.

Hi all,

Appr. <4 weeks ago both saildrives (twin disc SP60's) have been serviced and they got net oil: ATF Dextron II.

Earlier I believe this oil is very transparant and hard to read.

I had a fridge mechanic come by and he filled it with a good chunk of additional gas.

Since the whole plate is able to freeze...

A couple months ago I installed a Danfoss BD50 based Isotherm Compact Classic 2013 fridge system. It has semi wonky behavior from the start.
