The Compac shallow draft is convenient especially here in Tampa Bay. They don't point well but motor sailing takes care of that if we need to hurry in.

Per the (L) in the model number, its a long shaft 20". (XL) is extra long 25"

A pneumatic drill can be purchased from Harbor Freight for about $17. It might work, it might not but worth trying. Hose it off afterwards and oil it, or throw it out.

You could split the lead from the panel to two separate PCW controllers. Considering how cheap PCW controllers are, this may be a way for you to go.

Compac 25. Later models came with a Westerbeke 12C. Wheel helm was an option but most will have a tiller.

If it's a Westerbeke 55 A, B, C, or D, it is probably a Isuzu 4LE1 base engine.

Google it, but, believe you can do this if you disconnect the lead from the charge coil to the rectifier. Otherwise, you might toast the rectifier.
